day one
what does beauty mean to you?
beauty. to me it is little things. things that the LORD has created to give me joy.
my feminine heart.
i think that it is the most beautiful thing in the world.
beauty is knowing that all the marks left on my body are there because i grew, and carried our daughter well. ( i adore that my husband calls them my "love marks")
beauty is seeing people age, and hearing about how the LORD has walked beside them through life.
beauty is the birth of a child.
and the moment that you hold that child.

honestly though, i struggle with an intense desire to be what the world tells me beauty is.
somedays i think that beauty is a single digit on the size of your jeans, or the perfect curl in your hair.
sometimes i fall for the lie that beauty is what you put on your body instead of what is on the inside.
i stuggle with, " am i beauty?"
sometimes i dont even believe my husband when he calls me his "dark beauty".
that is not what beauty is.
my beauty should not come from my hair, or my jeans. it should not come from my shoes or my perfectly manicured nails, and it should not come from what my tummy looks like 2 months after giving birth to my lady baby.
beauty should come from my heart.
it should come from the LORD.
i should embrace my feminie heart; that thing that i find so beautiful.
i should learn to be free in my womanhood.
i must learn to be free in Christ.
freedom to be exactly who he created me to be.
sunsets and sunrises.
the way a baby needs their mama ( and daddy)
things that have seen more life than i have.
love.
when people get baptized (which i saw a lot of today!)
watching a girl become a woman.
knowing that i am saved and loved eternally by the creator of this universe.
that, is what beauty is to me.
