hi blog! summer has finally come to seattle, so we are doing less blogging and more sunbathing.
fourth of july was wonderful.
in fact, it might be one of the best ones in a long time.
the sun was shining.
nick and i spent the morning cleaning up, and then we took maggie out to a park and walked around. she played for a bit and then we brought her home to nap before heading out to a community barbeque. i'll be honest - i really was afraid that maggie would be terrified of fireworks. but the honest truth is, the girl loves them. like L-O-V-E-S them. cant get enough of them. she likes 'em loud and big. and she adores sparklers. nick bought some pop-its and she loved stomping on them, he bought some popper things {i dont know the technical name for them} and she loved those, {who wouldnt, they explode confetti.} and after our friends neighbors were done letting some beautiful fireworks off in the sky she would clap and yell, "mo' mo' please!" doing her signs for more and please as frantic as possible. and then uncle justin brought out the sparklers and taught her how to do it. she was so careful the first time, and then she fell in LOVE. i am certain that she did at least 5 sparklers.
after we went home, she snuggled down into her bed and slept for the next 14 hours. it was pretty much a really great day. :)
